Health ministry reports 2,787 new COVID-19 cases

VGP – The Ministry of Health has confirmed 2,787 new COVID-19 cases on Wednesday morning, bringing the national caseload to 65,607.

The number of daily new COVID-19 cases from June 1- to 6:00 am of July 21

The latest patients comprise 12 imported cases and 2,775 locally-transmitted ones in 23 localities: HCMC (1,739), Binh Duong (657), Dong Nai (85), Tien Giang (65), Vinh Long (39), Khanh Hoa (38), Ben Tre (35), Ba Ria-Vung Tau (18), Can Tho (16), Dak Lak (13), Kien Giang (12), Binh Phuoc (12), Hau Giang (nine), Long An (eight), Ha Giang (six), Phu Yen (five), Dak Nong (four), Ha Noi (four), Quang Ngai (three), Binh Dinh (two), Nghe An (two), Lam Dong (two), and Gia Lai (one).

Of the domestic cases, 393 were detected in community, according to the ministry.

Among the national patient tally, 63,510 are locally-transmitted cases of which 61,940 were documented in 60 cities and provinces since April 27 when the fourth wave of COVID-19 resurgence began.

Eleven out of the above localities have gone 14 days without community infection, namely Yen Bai, Quang Tri, Tuyen Quang, Son La, Thai Nguyen, Dien Bien, Hai Duong, Phu Tho, Quang Ninh, Hoa Binh and Bac Kan.

The total number of recoveries reached 11,443.

Among the current positive cases, 123 patients are being treated at intensive care units, of whom 18 are critically ill and dependent on ECMO.

On July 20, 26,355 more people were vaccinated, raising the total doses administered in the country to over 4.33 million. As many as 317,672 people have been fully vaccinated. /.
