Former Auditor General unanimously elected new Major of Ha Noi

VGP – Ha Noi Municipal People's Council on Friday unanimously elected former Auditor General of the State Audit of Viet Nam Tran Sy Thanh as new Mayor of Ha Noi.

Earlier on July 15, Tran was assigned by the Politburo to hold the post of Deputy Secretary of the Ha Noi Municipal Party Committee for the 2020-2025 tenure.

Tran, born in 1971 in the central province of Nghe An, promised to focus on modernizing infrastructure system in favor of socio-economic development in the capital city.

He will also strengthen power decentralization and enforcement of laws, improve the effectiveness of governance and urban management; and promote the development of human resources./.
