Cinemas and theaters in the capital city will be reopened from February 10

In a latest official dispatch, Vice Chairman of the Ha Noi People's Committee Chu Xuan Dung assigned the municipal Department of Culture and Sports to coordinate with the Department of Health in guiding how cinemas and theaters should do to ensure COVID-19 prevention and control.

Cinema theater in Ha Noi have been closed since May last year, when the fourth wave of COVID-19 resurgence broke out.

Earlier, the Government required the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to work with the Ministry of Health and concerned organizations to consider the reopening of cinemas nationwide, with the COVID-19 situation taken into account.

The Government made the move following a proposal by several cinema operators in Ha Noi asking for permission to resume their businesses ahead of Tet, the Vietnamese traditional lunar New Year, since the country has entered the “new normal”.

* In another move, the Huong Pagoda in Ha Noi's My Duc district will officially welcome back visitors from February 16.

* On February 7, the Ha Noi Department of Education and Training submitted a proposal on face-to-face learning for students from the first to sixth grades in 12 districts from February 21 following the municipal authorities’ earlier decision of allowing students of these grades in 18 suburban districts and towns to go back to school from February 10.

Ha Noi’s suburban localities are Ba Vi, Chuong My, Dan Phuong, Dong Anh, Gia Lam, Hoai Duc, Me Linh, My Duc, PhuXuyen, Phuc Tho, Quoc Oai, Soc Son, Son Tay, Thach That, Thanh Oai, Thanh Tri, Thuong Tin and Ung Hoa.

Earlier, the Ha Noi People's Committee had decided to allow students from grades 7 to 12 to return to school from February 8./.
